About Rida
Hi! My name is Rida and I am currently a Computer Engineering Student at Queen's University hoping to finish my degree by 2028. Throughout my academic career, I've consistently excelled in math and have always enjoyed helping others see it in a clearer, less intimidating way. I'm passionate about mentoring students and helping them build the confidence and skills they need to succeed, both in the classroom and beyond.

I have been a keen student throughout my academic career, consistently excelling in math and enjoying breaking down complex problems into simpler, more understandable steps. I've found that most students struggle not because the material is too hard, but because they try to tackle a complicated problem all at once instead of breaking it into smaller, manageable pieces.
My main technique is teaching students how to identify what they already know, spot the core concept being tested, and work through the problem piece by piece. I also focus on building strong fundamentals first, since most struggles come from gaps in earlier concepts rather than the current topic itself.
Before each lesson, I like to identify where a student's specific gaps are so I can prepare accordingly and make the most of our time together. A typical lesson starts with a quick review of previous concepts, moves into the day's topic with clear examples, then guided practice where we work through problems together step by step, and finishes with homework which we would go over together later to see if the concepts stuck with the student or not.
What sets me apart is that I genuinely care about my students' long-term progress, not just getting through the next test or assignment. My goal is to help students actually understand math and feel confident tackling it on their own, as this can translate to other things as well and not just Math.
My lessons are for students from middle school through university level who struggle with math and feel overwhelmed by complex problems. Whether it's algebra, calculus, or other math courses, I focus on helping students rebuild confidence and develop a clearer, step-by-step approach to problem-solving.
