About Halston
I've been tutoring professionally for around 12 years. I typically tutor only two or three students at a time, so I can focus on how to best suit their abilities and goals. Post-tutoring, my students have gone on to achieve better grades in their math classes and, with help on the math sections of the ASVAB, enlist in the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps.

I make the students' battles my own. I ensure students have a firm understanding of arithmetic subject matter before I continue to more complex concepts. I tailor flash cards and cumulative pop quizzes to the specific needs of the student to maximize targeted learning. I give homework and encourage students to take notes that they should review later; topics from one session will be built upon in subsequent lessons.
