Every person learns differently. I like to first determine which way a person learns best and teach accordingly. I like to give a brief overview of the subject, and let the student determine the pace. I am as hands on or off as the student desires. I let the student show me their areas of weakness and address them one at a time until the subject is mastered.

∙ Reduced product time to market by simultaneously completing the software development of system level and user interface code for a digital switch for protection of a microwave SONET radio. In addition to completing the programming, was also responsible for testing, debugging and releasing the product.
System level code was done in UNIX C with a pSOS operating system. The user interface was completed in C++ on Microsoft Windows. USI was compatible with all Windows operating systems from Windows 95 through Windows XP.
∙ Enhanced the quality of software release by writing automated test software to enable easy testing of software applications, and to ensure all aspects of affected subsystem(s) were retested and verified after changes were made to the code.
This test software was written in TCL on a UNIX operating system, which was learned as part of this project.
∙ Improved end-user satisfaction by converting DOS based user interface applications to windows based applications using Visual Basic.
∙ Enabled short time to market for an SNMP based application, developing new code and making enhancements to existing code in order to meet requirements for the user interface. Completed release paperwork and released the code and documents.
Learned PERL in order to accomplish this coding task, while meeting release deadlines.
