About Carl
Teaching computer programming for 13 years has been a process of constant iteration and refinement. Sometimes the logic behind a simple loop feels harder than it should be.
Through my PhD work at MIT and my extensive background in C++ and JavaScript, I have identified the specific roadblocks students face in programming. I utilize project-based learning and clean code practices to help you build APIs, manage backends, and master object-oriented programming. We can also drill problem solving on coding platforms if you want to invite me into your workflow.

Many beginners panic when they face a wall of red error messages in their terminal. Coding is fundamentally about solving one small problem at a time. I use 13 years of experience to guide you through HTML and CSS while maintaining a GitHub repo set up to track each student's progress. My PhD studies at MIT influence how I structure these sessions.
I make sure you actually understand the logic behind your code. It is incredibly rewarding to watch a student finally make their code run smoothly.
