About Me:
Hello! I am a passionate programmer and educator with 5 years of experience working with Python/C++/Java etc. My journey into computer science started when I built my first tiny terminal-based program, and I have been hooked on software development ever since.
My Background & Experience:
Professionally, I am a Computer Science graduate from Florida State University, and am a self-taught freelance developer. Over the past 5 years, I have helped classmates, peers, and clients break down complex technical logic into manageable, bite-sized pieces.
Why I Tutor:
I know firsthand how intimidating coding can look from the outside. Traditional textbooks often make computer science feel dry and overly mathematical. I love tutoring because nothing beats the "lightbulb moment" when a student finally fixes a stubborn bug and understands exactly how their code works. I believe that learning to code can be made fun, and the only way to truly learn coding is by writing code, while also understanding what the code is doing to the computer memory on a fundamental level. My lessons are highly interactive, practical, and tailored entirely to your current skill level and personal learning goals. I focus on building a strong problem-solving mindset rather than just memorizing syntax.
What a Typical Lesson Looks Like:
Review (5-10 mins):
We quickly troubleshoot any homework roadblocks or review tricky concepts from our last session.
Core Concept (15-20 mins): I introduce a new programming concept using clear, real-world analogies instead of dense tech jargon.
Live Coding (25-30 mins): We open a terminal and build code together. You will write code while I guide you, catch bugs in real-time, and explain best practices.
Wrap-Up (5 mins): We outline a small, practical mini-project for you to practice independently before our next meeting.
Who I Teach: Whether you are an absolute beginner looking to build your first app, a high schooler stressed about AP Computer Science, or a professional aiming to automate tasks at work, I provide a patient and supportive environment to help you succeed.
