About Imaad

Hi I'm Imaad! I just graduated from studying Computer Science at UCL (University College London) with a First Class Honours.

For as long as I can remember, I have always loved problem solving, from puzzles, to the Rubik's cube or programming! Sometimes you might not understand a concept at school, but when it finally clicks in your mind, the satisfaction you get is amazing.

During my school years, I constantly achieved high marks across a range of exams. This includes A Levels, GCSEs, FSMQ, CTMUA, 11+, UKMT maths challenges/olympiads. Along the way, I found out what the most effective revision methods are, including space repetition and active recall.

Here are my results:
- A Levels: A*A*A*A* in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, Physics
- GCSEs: (concealed information) in Maths (9),Computing (9), Physics (9), Chemistry (9), Biology (9)
- FSMQ: A in Additional Maths (highest grade)

One of my passions is teaching and sharing my knowledge with others, which is why I'm on MyTutor! I used to volunteer as a mentor for younger students in school, which helped me to develop my communication skills and connect with students.

Some of my hobbies are: playing table tennis, watching anime, programming and making videos.

About the lesson

I strive for my sessions to be comfortable and effective for the student. This means that we can make the most out of each lesson slot, and not waste any time.

Our lessons can cover anything from homework, exam practice or even study tips. Whatever the student wants to focus on, we will spend the most time on that.

Here is a quick outline of what our lessons will look like:

1. In the first lesson, I'll ask the student questions about the particular subject and what their goals are in terms of grades/purpose for lessons.

2. Then, we'll go through the specification provided by the exam board and the student will rate how well they know the topic. We might also go thorugh a practice paper.

3. These 2 steps are essential for us to identify which topics are their strengths and weaknesses, to gauge which topics they need to focus on more.

4. After this, we'll come up with a lesson plan for our future lessons together, building off the student's strengths and weaknesses.

5. Revise/go through the content for each topic, making sure that the student has a solid understanding of the core concepts by testing them with practice questions.

6. Closer to exam season, we will switch our focus to doing past exam papers and I will provide help on questions that they struggled on as well as general feedback.
