About Luke
I am a Computer Science graduate with professional experience as a Software Engineer at a leading consulting company, where I worked with clients, presented complex ideas clearly, and collaborated with teams to build real-world applications. These experiences developed my ability to explain concepts in a clear and structured way, which now forms the foundation of my tutoring style. I have previously tutored GCSE Maths and found it incredibly rewarding to help students gain confidence and tackle challenging topics. My academic and professional background allows me to show not just how to solve problems, but also why they matter and how they connect to practical situations. I now also tutor A-Level Maths and Computer Science, supporting students who want to deepen their understanding and improve their academic results. Outside of tutoring, I play piano and guitar in a band, and also enjoy reading about history and exploring new places. These interests help me bring creativity, curiosity and enthusiasm into my lessons, making them more engaging and relatable for students. I aim to create a supportive environment where each student feels comfortable, motivated and proud of their progress.

My tutoring approach is calm, personalised, and focused on building a strong understanding of each topic. I break concepts down into simple, logical steps and make sure the student is comfortable before moving on. I aim to create a supportive environment where questions are always welcome and lessons move at a pace that suits the learner. A typical lesson lasts one hour and includes a quick recap at the end to reinforce key points. I tailor each session to the student’s goals, whether that means preparing for exams, reviewing past topics or building overall confidence. I have recently completed my Computer Science Degree and previously tutored GCSE Maths students. I also have a strong background in A-Level Maths and feel confident teaching at that level. I am now looking to take on new students and help them succeed. My lessons are suitable for students aged 11 to 18 who are studying for GCSE or A-Level Maths or for anyone who wants to improve their understanding of Maths or Computing including coding.
