About Stephen Ayodele

Hello, I’m Stephen, a primary school Mathematics teacher from Nigeria with over 8 years of experience teaching children.

I enjoy helping children understand Math rather than simply memorizing rules and procedures. Over the years, I have taught learners with different abilities and learning needs. This has taught me that every child may need a slightly different approach to understand a mathematical concept.

My lessons are particularly suited to children between the ages of 7 and 11. I can help with topics such as:

* Number and place value
* Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
* Fractions, decimals and percentages
* Geometry and measurement
* Mental Math
* Word problems
* Mathematical reasoning
* Homework and revision support

When I work with a learner, I first try to understand what they already know. I then identify areas where they need support and plan the lesson around those needs.

I use clear explanations, worked examples, questioning, guided practice and problem-solving activities. I also encourage children to explain how they arrived at an answer. This helps me understand their thinking and identify any misconceptions.

I believe children learn Math better when they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My role is to provide patient guidance while gradually helping each learner become more confident and independent.

Whether your child is finding a particular Math topic difficult, needs additional practice alongside school, wants to strengthen their understanding, or simply needs more confidence when solving problems, I can provide structured and supportive lessons.

I can support learners following the Nigerian primary Mathematics curriculum, as well as children studying primary-level Mathematics in the UK.

My goal is simple: to help children understand Math, build confidence and develop the skills they need to solve problems independently.

About the lesson

Hello, my name is Stephen, and I’m a primary school Mathematics teacher from Nigeria.

I have over eight years of experience teaching Mathematics to primary school learners, and I particularly enjoy helping children understand Math in a simple, clear and practical way.

I teach learners between the ages of 7 and 11, covering topics such as number and place value, the four operations, fractions, decimals, geometry, measurement and problem solving.

In my lessons, I don’t just give children questions and expect them to memorize methods. I first find out what they already understand, identify where they need support, and then explain the concept step by step using examples and guided practice.

I also encourage learners to explain their thinking because I want them to become confident and independent problem-solvers.

Whether your child needs extra support, wants to strengthen their Math skills, or needs more confidence, I would be happy to help.
