About John
I'm a qualified Computing and ICT teacher, and I've also worked in the IT profession. I have experience working with children and young people for over 10 years, and I have worked with children with learning difficulties, special educational needs, and children who are on the Autistic Spectrum. I'm very patient, and I like a good laugh, so you probably shouldn't expect a dry, humourless lesson! This isn't school, after all :-)

I can teach you whatever you need to know for your Computing lessons, particularly relating to KS1, 2 and 3. I'm expert in eSafety and have written for 2 leading UK education magazines on the subjects of eSafety and teaching coding and computational thinking to young children.
The best lessons are personalised to the learner, so I'll chat with you first to get an overview of what you know, what you're finding hard, and how you like to learn, and I'll plan your tutorial around you.
I believe the best way to teach anything is to make it relevant to the student. When teaching anything relating to computing, it is best if it's grounded in the real world. Hence, when I teach coding concepts, I teach them in the context of computer games. Keeping it relevant makes it accessible.
