About Zachary

I am a dedicated and professional math tutor with a strong academic background and a passion for teaching. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from UCLA and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Computer Science. My academic career has given me strong problem-solving skills and logical reasoning; these skills are key for mathematics. As a tutor, I prioritize patience, clarity, and adaptability. I understand that every student learns differently, and I take the time to tailor my approach to each individual’s needs and goals. Whether a student is building foundational skills, preparing for exams, or striving to excel academically, I aim to create a supportive and structured learning environment that builds academic confidence and a deep understanding of any subject matter

About the lesson

I use a student-centered teaching approach based on each student’s learning style and goals. I am patient, knowledgeable, and my primary focus is helping students achieve their desired academic results.

For students with a strong foundation, lessons emphasize practice problems of increasing difficulty, including common trick questions and exam-style problems that build higher-level thinking.

For students that need to strengthen their fundamentals, I begin by assessing their current understanding before providing clear, structured explanations alongside visual aids.

For students at all levels, I emphasize communication. I encourage students to ask any questions they might have and to talk through their reasoning as they solve problems.

I mostly teach middle and high school math students studying subjects such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, and calculus. However, I am happy to teach subjects outside of these, and I love teaching anyone who is motivated to learn.
