About Tai
Hey, my name is Tai and I’m a first-year student at Boston University majoring in Computer Science. I’ve worked as a tutor for the past two years, primarily helping students prepare for the SAT and PSAT. I’ve taken math courses through Calculus II and Discrete Math, and I feel confident in my ability to explain challenging concepts clearly and patiently. Since I’m a student myself, I can easily relate to the struggles other students face. I understand how confusing certain topics can be, and I use that perspective to pinpoint where someone might be getting stuck and how to guide them through it.

- I like to start each session with a structured lesson plan, but I adjust in real time based on how the student is doing. This flexibility helps me target specific weaknesses and keep the session effective.
- I combine clear explanations with guided practice, encouraging students to think out loud so I can better understand their thought process. A typical lesson includes a quick review, new material, practice problems, and a recap.
- What sets me apart is my adaptability—I meet students where they are and adjust on the fly to best support their learning.
- I work with students from any grade level up to high school seniors. I’ve taken math through Calculus II, so I’m comfortable teaching everything from pre-algebra to introductory calculus.
