About Tyler

Hi, I'm Tyler, and I want you to know that I genuinely get it—math can feel overwhelming, confusing, and sometimes like it's designed to make you feel frustrated. I've been there too, especially as someone with ADHD who knows what it's like when your brain works differently and traditional teaching methods just don't click. But here's what I've learned through my computer science studies and years of athletics: every single person can understand math when it's explained in a way that makes sense to them. I'm not here to judge you or make you feel bad about what you don't know—I'm here to meet you exactly where you are, work at your pace, and find the approach that lights up your understanding. Whether you need to draw it out, talk through every step, or take breaks to refocus, we'll figure out what works for you together. My job isn't just to help you pass your next test; it's to help you discover that you're capable of so much more than you realize, and I'll be cheering you on every step of the way.

About the lesson

Struggling with math doesn't have to be permanent. I'm a computer science student who specializes in breaking down mathematical concepts into manageable, confidence-building steps that help students not just pass their exams, but actually enjoy learning math.

I start by understanding how each student learns best, then slowly work through equations at their pace using whatever method clicks for them—whether that's visual diagrams, hands-on practice, or talking through each step—so they can build confidence using the approach that feels most natural to them.

I'm Tyler, a computer science student at New College of Florida with a unique background that helps me connect with students on multiple levels. Having played both college and professional soccer, I understand discipline, goal-setting, and the importance of practice in achieving success. As someone with ADHD myself, I genuinely relate to students who struggle with focus and attention, and I know firsthand the strategies that work when traditional teaching methods don't click. I start by understanding how each student learns best, then slowly work through math concepts at their pace using whatever method resonates with them—whether that's visual diagrams, hands-on practice, or talking through each step—so they can build confidence using the approach that feels most natural to them. My goal is to help every student discover that they're actually much better at math than they think.
