About Evangelene

Hello! I'm Evangelene, a driven student at UC Santa Cruz with a passion for math and computer science. I'm currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in the field of Computer Science and have lots of experience in numerous mathematical concepts. I have always taken advanced math courses since middle school and continue to do so in college as the field of Computer Science requires the understanding of rigorous math courses. I have worked as a private tutor in high school and have taught middle schoolers and high schoolers in numerous math categories such as middle school math, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and Precalculus. I also have a very deep understanding of Calculus AB and am willing to teach material within that concept as well! In addition to Mathematics, I am also able to teach beginner Python coding as I developed a deep understanding of the concept through college courses which I passed with A's. About the lesson

Lesson Plan for Math Subjects (Middle School Math and High School Math (including Calculus AB):

Duration: Approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

1. Greet and briefly go over the objective of the day (5 minutes)
2. Review the previous lesson as a refresher (5 minutes)
3. Deeply explain the concept by breaking it into parts and demonstrating with example problems. Students are encouraged to ask questions! (20 minutes)
4. Practice with guided practice problems. We will work through the problems together and increase difficulty gradually. In this section I will also provide immediate feedback and clarify misunderstandings. (15 minutes)
6. Assign Independent practice problems for the student to solve independently. I will observe their approach and correct any mistakes. (15 minutes)
7. Briefly review the concept and summarize the key points. I will also assign homework that will be due by the next tutoring session and answer any additional questions (10 minutes)
