About Oliver

I'm a passionate Mathematician and Physicist looking to help teach and inspire students to do their absolute best. I've taken every opportunity to teach through designing and running workshops and giving lessons to local schoolkids to expand their knowledge and confidence to giving physics talks on interesting applications of calculus. My workshops were based on teaching to code to a larger class whilst the lessons focussed on a smaller group teaching physics principles such as Newton's laws. From this I've already developed a good sense of how best to explain concepts based on individual learning styles and make lessons engaging but I'm always eager to adapt and improve styles to maximise how much I can help. I am an offer holder for Computer Science and Manchester meaning I also have experience in coding and alike areas.

About the lesson

From my experience, practice is the single most important factor to a good maths or physics GCSE. My lessons would help give students the confidence and understanding needed for them to be able to do their own practice and keep up with any classroom content they might be struggling with. This would usually look like an hour session where the student brings forward any concerns or issues they had and we would work towards answers and build up a repertoire of skills to tackle similar problems. I achieved a straight 4 A* set of grades in maths further maths physics and psychology I have GCSE grades 9 in maths, further maths and physics along All my GCSEs were grade 7 and above with an additional 9 in Chemistry
