About Simran
I am a computer science student set to graduate in May 2024, with a minor in math. I have a keen interest in assisting children with their education, and my experiences with my younger siblings and cousins have given me ample opportunities to do so. Whenever they struggle with their assignments, they turn to me for guidance, and I always do my best to provide them with the necessary help. Apart from my academic pursuits, I am actively involved in several clubs and extracurricular activities that have helped me hone my leadership skills.

As a student who experienced remote learning in both my last year of high school and first year of college due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I can empathize with students who struggle to stay focused in an online setting. Having been in the same situation, I am familiar with what works and what doesn't work for students. In my tutoring approach, I would emphasize practice as a means of achieving perfection, and working with each student on a one-on-one basis, giving them the freedom to learn through trial and error, and to ask questions. My typical lesson plan would focus on reviewing topics that the student finds challenging, helping them relearn concepts and expand their knowledge. As a tutor, what sets me apart is my unique perspective as a student, and my understanding of how our attention spans work, and which teaching techniques are most effective. I am capable of tutoring students ranging from K-12 grades.
