About Ben
Hi my name is Ben!
I am a 23 year old ex-teacher who has achieved 2 First-class degrees in Computer Science and I hold my Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
I am currently working as a 3rd line Support Software analyst for an online retailer. My job role is quite varied and so I have a large breadth of knowledge in multiple programming and scripting languages.
I have worked in a number of businesses and IT sectors (such as online retail, E-commerce and the NHS), and I am hoping to use my skills to allow others to achieve their goals.

In a practical subject like programming guided practice is essential. Giving you the ability to problem solve and apply your knowledge is crucial.
I apply the PRIMM methodology for my lessons as this is a proven and effective way to teach programming. I am happy to be a guide allowing the student to deepen their understanding of a subject thus helping them to achieve their goals.
I found this approach effective when teaching students aged 11 -21, as you can adapt the difficulty to the student's ability.
I am happy teaching all age ranges and abilities (even if the student is starting from scratch, we all start somewhere). All I ask is for honesty and communication from the student
