About Alexandra
I am currently studying Computer Science at University. At A level I achieved an A in both Maths and Computer Science, and passed both Physics and Further Maths. I have also passed 8 GCSEs at grade 7 - 9 including Maths and English.
Although my passion is for Computer Science I am confident in my ability to teach maths due to my previous tutoring experience in the subject. I have worked as a mentor in maths at both A level and GCSE level, and have tutored Computer Science at GCSE level before.

My method of teaching is to help students build up problem solving skills that can be applied for future use both inside and outside of exams. By slowly explaining concepts and then providing enough guided and independent practice, any skill can be developed with enough time.
It is important to set achievable goals, and work in small steps to build up towards these. It is also important to be able to recognise areas of weakness and find ways to tackle this in way that doesn't make the student feel belittled or inadequate.
