About Abhishek
I have worked with students at different stages in their academic and professional life. As a Doctoral candidate, I'm well aware of the unique challenges that I, as an educator, need to overcome in order to get my ideas through to my listeners.
I design my courses around teaching core ideas of the programming language and getting my students familiar with them before pushing them to deeper waters. Wherever you are in your journey into understanding how computers work, I can ensure that the rest of your journey into this area will be a fun and exciting one!

I am a Distributed Systems researcher with over 10 years of experience as a researcher and educator. I have taught programming and system design courses at University of
California, Santa Cruz, University of California, Irvine, and at Bangalore University (India). I have published over 13 papers in peer-reviewed ACM and IEEE conferences.
I believe in teaching by experimentation and a typical lesson would touch switch between discussion of ideas with the students followed by problems given to students that strengthen the ideas. This allows a better grasp of the ideas by the students.
My class assumes that students don't have prior knowledge of the topics to enable anyone to understand the basics of Logic, Algorithms and Programming.
We first discuss the ideas in Mathematical Logic. Beginning with formal logic and it's relationship to language. We then move to propositional logic, and proof systems. We then discuss Algorithms and data structures, and their use in programming. We use ideas in Mathematical logic to learn how to prove that our algorithms are correct.
Although the topics look daunting, we discuss each of them using fun and interactive activities, and problems.
