In my current role as a New York City CTE teacher, I teach Video Production, Social Media, Voice Announcing, Career & Finance Management, Introduction to Computers, Introduction to Advertising, Portfolio for classes as large as 32 students. I am familiar and comfortable with various types of lesson planning, Charlotte Danielson’s Framework for Teaching, and best practices for instructing students with special needs. I have a vast knowledge and appreciation of art history, theories on interpersonal communication, and multimedia creation. I pride myself on my ability to help students embrace their curiosities, and empower themselves by gaining understanding. Many of my former and current students have thanked me for encouraging them to explore and express their inner artist. It would be a pleasure to join the staff at your school as an instructor so that I can bring my passion and energy for teaching mass media and its related studies to your students. I am confident you will find that my skills and teaching methodology meet your needs.
As remote learning continues, I am confident that we can problem solve and find creative ways to still provide impactful instruction. I look forward to meeting with you this week to learn more about the role and share more about my qualifications. Please use this link to view my portfolio. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
I'll start by introducing myself. My name is Jordan Russell. I grew up with my parents and younger sister in Cleveland, OH. I was almost always drawing, writing, or making things when I was a kid. I somewhat always knew that I was an artist. I studied film and film history at my first college, then studied videography and TV production at my alma mater, The University of Memphis. I also studied film production at New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, CA. Later on, I would learn even more about news and radio broadcasting at the Defense Information School at Fort Meade, MD. During this entire time, I was also working as a tutor or teaching assistant. It might be a wonder why I still love being in the classroom, but I am convinced that the learning process is a wondrous and vital thing that I enjoy being a part of whether as a pupil or presenter.
As you can see, I've moved around a lot. I have lived in more cities than I care to count, but the Upper Valley is now home. I look forward to having a positive impact in New Hampshire/Vermont. I like it here and I'm glad and proud to call myself a Career & Technical Education Teacher.
We can discuss and negotiate based on the situation.
