About JP

I have been a basic skills computer tutor and coach helping adult learners with their technology since 2009. I'm here to help people bridge the knowledge gap in computing and the use of technology. I provide virtual learning to Canada and the USA. I'm looking forward to helping people compute!

About the lesson

Adult and seniors basic computer skills. We go over all the fundamentals of your choice. We look at the software (apps) and web services you would like to understand and use. Examples: - Google Gmail, photos, calendar, drive, contacts, keep, tasks - Microsoft Windows, Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook - Browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge - Calling/video: Skype, Google Duo, Zoom, Teams, WhatsApp - Website building: Wix - Ultraviewer, TeamViewer and Anydesk. I use demonstrative learning techniques, coaching, and hands-on learning. Learning resources are given as content to be studied and practiced between appointments. I recommend one to two hour sessions per week to maximize learning. You are free to take as few or as many lessons as you want, with no obligation. As the person being coached, you choose the computer skills you would like to acquire. I start with a free assessment interview with the adult learner to see where their technology knowledge is, and where I can help fill in the knowledge gaps. Unlike traditional group training or classroom curriculum, you are in charge and I provide training matched to your unique needs and priorities.
