My teaching approach to music is structured and detailed, but also encourages active usage of creativity and sensibility to reach true artistic potential. I normally divide my lessons into two sections: technical exercises and repertoire exploration. In the technical part of the lesson, I focused on working in flute fundamentals such as tone, vibrato, articulation, fingers, position, etc. through drills, etudes and exercises. In the repertoire exploration part, I focus on musicality, style, listening, and discussion about performance approach.
I am a professional flute player from Peru currently studying my doctorate in music performance at the University of North Texas. I have a Master of Music in Instrumental Performance from the University of Miami, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Florida Gulf Coast University.
