About Joao
João, born in Portugal, made his orchestral debut at the age of 12 in Ettelbruck (Luxembourg). He was awarded several first prizes in national and international competitions and he has been offered recitals and chamber music concerts in several prestigious halls through Europe.
He has worked with distinguished artists in masterclasses, such as Elisabeth Leonskaja, Rena Shereshevskaya, Vladimir Viardo, Jerome Rose, Eldar Nebolsin, Artur Pizarro, Milana Chernyavska and Anna Malikova.
In 2017, I finished my Bachelor Degree at Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, under Professor Jorge Moyano’s guidance. I continued my studies at the prestigious Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofia, in Madrid, under the guidance of the renowned Russian Professor Galina Eguiazarova and in the chamber music class of Professor Márta Gulyás. In this institution, he finished his Master Degree and was distinguished, in 2020, with the “Most Outstanding Piano Student” award, and, in the following year, with the award for the best chamber music group with piano. I am currently at the “Artist Diploma” program at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Teaching has also been one of my passions in music. I have been teaching teaching private students of different ages (children and young students from 5 to 16 years old, young and senior adults) for almost 7 years. Being able to transmit everything I learned from my tutors and the passion for the music is without a doubt one of the most rewarding things for an artist.
