About Ali
I am currently an Assistant Professor at Concordia University, where I teach AI and Programming courses to undergraduate and graduate students. Before coming to Concordia, I was a lecturer and a researcher at the University of Waterloo, and prior to that, I received my PhD in Electrical Engineering from Penn State. I have extensive experience in teaching more than 700 K-12, undergraduate and graduate students in one-on-one sessions and large groups. My main goal is to help my students achieve their academic goals by teaching them the necessary skill set. In each session, I usually start with some simple real-world motivator examples and then gradually dive deep into the mathematical and programming concepts needed to solve these problems. I like to have an engaging lecture where students are actively involved, by asking questions or solving some simple problems that I ask them to do during the lecture.
