About Boshra

I am currently enrolled in a Media TV and Film/ Journalism course, however, I am very frustrated at the fact that I am not developing nor learning anything new, from last year. I never give up on learning and trying new things. Although I wasn't initially into academia I assumed that by studying this course I would put my skills to test, expand my knowledge and learn new skills that would benefit me in my career. However, after 2 years of studying media, I found that my intense speaking course (The speak up challenge) was more beneficial in acquiring skills such as presentation, speech, communication, and confidence than the years of studying modules related to media and journalism, without any practical experience.

I have had various experiences in multiple platforms, that would give me the skills required to succeed in this job.

However, I am working on other projects in my own time; to continue developing and enhancing my skills, for example, I took part in a Speech and Communication course called Speak up Challenge. This trains people for all sorts of speeches such as TED Talks and Conferences, I was actually the youngest student in that course and that's due to wanting to work on myself in my own time.

Most recently, I was on tour with Penny appeal and Brimero Entertainment, for the theatre musical ''Eid With The Neighbour''. Had the role of being a blogger Insta famous mother with a dramatic, caring, dimwitted, materialistic... personality. which was an amazing experience.

In summer 2018 I was part of a play that discussed the issue of racism in America and I had the leading role of being the widow with a child. Which made me become far more aware of the impact we have on one another and the importance of acceptance and showing love to one another with our actions and words and not just 'thinking' we're not racist or that we accept other people.

About the lesson

I am currently with Contact Theatre and Odd Arts. I'm always developing my performing skills and I take part in courses and drama lessons. March 2019 I took an intense 3-day drama course that had a play to follow.

I am very keen on presenting to young people, discussing certain topics such as diversity, culture, acceptance and much more. I believe that my strong points are that I am a young Muslim woman and can relate to young people, teenagers, girls, and children. I have lived in different countries around the world and hence I can relate to different age groups and cultures.
