Music eventually led me to linguistics after I realized that the cadence of a melody is identical to the rhythm of a spoken sentence. It might seem strange for a musician to teach grammar, yet the connection between vocal resonance and phonetics is undeniable.
My work often highlights Canadian art-song repertoire to ground linguistic concepts in cultural heritage. For 13 years, I have helped conversation-focused learners and absolute beginners find their footing in a new language.
