About Gideon
I worked for years in the Real Estate Industry and have a diploma in Auctioneering from the S.A. College of Auctioneering, a Two Year Certificate from the Waldorf School Movement based on the works of Dr Rudolf Steiner. I also have a TEFL Certificate to teach English as a foreign language. I taught creative writing in both English and Afrikaans at several government schools, self-published the writings of the learners as well as my own novel and two volumes of short stories.

I base my Conversational Afrikaans and Conversational English as a foreign language lessons more inclusive by getting the students to partake in the form of role-playing, eliciting responses by asking open-ended questions and dividing learners into small groups to allow them to interact with each other and give them the chance to speak Conversational Afrikaans or Conversational English as a foreign language to each other or to the teacher. I concentrate on the four skills such as speaking, reading, hearing and listening, as well as other sub-skills which include vocabulary and grammar. The emphasis would be on speaking the language fluently and to empower the student to operate independently from the teacher.
