About Jasmine

Learning can be challenging, but the right teacher can make it easier - that’s why the person you choose matters.

I aim to be a supportive teacher who helps every student succeed.
From 2023-2024, I volunteered as a Beginner ESL teacher and occasionally taught intermediate and advanced students. Seeing students light up when they understood something new gave me a strong sense of purpose. I greatly enjoyed connecting with them as people (even if we had to resort to a translator app).

I am a passionate student myself, growing my skills:
First-year Drama student with 10 years of theater experience
Qualified Trainer and Assessor
Certificate III and Diploma of Screen and Media

Currently, I am working part-time in Hospitality on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Based in South Brisbane, I am seeking a job where I can explore my teaching skills.

What is important to me:
My large family has helped me develop patience
My parents were both teachers and passed skills on to me
My creative hobbies (dancing, storytelling, drawing) help me bring interest to my lessons and explanations
My past experience helps me develop fun, interactive lessons. I look forward to helping you on your learning journey.

About the lesson

What is important to you? Let’s talk about that!

As a teacher, my main focus is you. I adjust every lesson to suit your individual needs.
I want to help you have fun while learning English that is relevant to your life — language you can use straight away to talk about your experiences, your family and friends, your hobbies, and your work.

Duration: 30‑minute or 1‑hour sessions

Age and Level: I am excited to help you — whatever your age or English level.
I have worked with students from complete beginners to advanced learners, from children through to older adults.

For our first lesson, I’ll give you a few simple activities to help me understand your English level. I’ll also make notes about key areas you may need help with, and I will base my lessons on those needs.

Lessons will include:
- Interactive speaking, reading, and writing activities
- Opportunities to listen to and converse with a native speaker
- New vocabulary
- Pronunciation practice
- Helpful tips on how to improve and what to focus on
- Suggestions for great learning resources
- Repetition to build confidence
- Creative elements and memorable images to make learning fun and effective

It's Optional: Dress up in a costume, dance, draw pictures, read stories, write letters, laugh, and make an Aussie friend :)

Some of my Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in TESOL
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Bachelor of Drama and Performance (in progress)
