About Lillian
Hi my name is Lil! I am a full-time tutor in Manhattan. Former students accepted into Deerfield, Phillips Andover, Exeter, Lawrenceville, Avenues. Please reach out in advance about tutoring as spaces are limited as we approach the fall testing season. I am a Cornell CS alum and teach all sections of the SSAT. Noting here that it's important to identify learning gaps in vocab early as improving a child's vocabulary takes quite some time!

My Approach
Before we meet, I assign a diagnostic. Your first lesson is complimentary. During that session, I identify whether mistakes are due to concept gaps or silly mistakes. I then learn your student’s goal score, test dates, and weekly availability to create a customized study plan. Parents receive weekly progress updates outlining strengths, areas of focus, and next steps.
Personalized Pacing & Homework
Homework is assigned based on student preference and capacity. New concepts may take time at first, and my goal is to steadily build both accuracy and speed so students recognize problem types quickly and solve them efficiently.
Teaching Style
I meet students where they are academically and emotionally. I prioritize clarity, confidence, and stress management so students feel supported, capable, and prepared on test day.

We are so glad we found Lillian. My son was stuck in the 1200s for his SAT despite having very good grades in school. We didn’t know how to support him, but Lillian put him on one of her training plans and got him on track. She gave us weekly update emails showing his improvement so that we could track his progress. He scored a 1560 this fall and got into one of his dream schools!
My daughter did most of her SAT studying on her own, but was stuck in the 1300s. Lillian evaluated her and put her on a program. Now my daughter has a 1470 and is feeling much more confident about scoring a 1500 this fall. My wife and I would highly recommend her. She is a pleasant person.
