About Yanis

Hi! I'm Yanis, an electrical engineering student at Polytechnique Montréal. Originally from France, I’ve been living in Canada for three years. Having completed two semesters at a CEGEP before starting university, I’m familiar with both the Québec and French education systems. I hold a French high school diploma (Baccalauréat) with honors in math and physics-chemistry, and I’ve recently completed my second year at Polytechnique. I'm passionate about helping others understand science and math in a way that actually makes sense. Whether you're in high school, CEGEP, or just starting university, I’ll adapt my approach to suit your pace and goals. I'm patient, structured, and always open to questions no matter how simple they might seem. For full transparency, I’d be happy to privately share my academic transcripts and diplomas if you're interested. Looking forward to helping you succeed!

Salut ! Moi c’est Yanis, étudiant en génie électrique à Polytechnique Montréal. Originaire de France, je vis au Canada depuis maintenant trois ans. Avant d’entrer à l’université, j’ai complété deux sessions au cégep, ce qui m’a donné une bonne compréhension des systèmes scolaires québécois et français. Je possède un baccalauréat français avec spécialités en mathématiques et physique-chimie, et j’entrerai prochainement en troisième année de génie électrique à Polytechnique Montréal.

J’aime particulièrement aider les autres à comprendre les maths et les sciences de façon claire et logique, sans simplement apprendre par cœur. Peu importe le niveau scolaire : secondaire, cégep ou début d’université, j’adapte ma manière d’expliquer selon ton niveau, ton rythme et tes objectifs.

Je suis quelqu’un de patient, structuré et toujours ouvert aux questions, même les plus simples. Pour être totalement transparent, je peux également partager mes relevés de notes et diplômes en privé si souhaité.

About the lesson

Each student has a different way of learning, so I adapt every lesson to your level, needs, and goals. At the start of a session, I take the time to ask questions about your strengths and struggles, for example, whether you're confident in algebra but find analysis or physics more difficult. I also try to understand your context: Are you preparing for an exam? Catching up on missed concepts? Just trying to feel more confident? During the lesson, we begin by reviewing past tests or assignments to understand your mistakes and learn from them. I focus on explaining the underlying concepts clearly, especially math theorems and physics laws, by using real-life examples. I’m very good at rephrasing ideas until they make sense to you. We’ll also practice with targeted exercises, and I can help you build better study strategies if needed. My goal is to make sure you not only solve problems but actually understand what you're doing.

Chaque étudiant apprend différemment, donc j’adapte toujours mes séances à ton niveau, tes besoins et tes objectifs. Au début, je prends le temps de comprendre ce qui est facile ou plus difficile pour toi, par exemple si tu es à l’aise en algèbre mais que tu as plus de difficulté en analyse ou en physique. J’essaie aussi de comprendre ta situation : est-ce que tu prépares un examen, essaies de rattraper certains concepts ou cherches simplement à gagner en confiance ?

Pendant les séances, on commence souvent par revoir d’anciens examens, devoirs ou exercices pour identifier les erreurs et surtout comprendre pourquoi elles arrivent. Mon objectif est d’expliquer les concepts de façon claire et intuitive, particulièrement les théorèmes en mathématiques et les lois en physique, souvent avec des exemples concrets.

Je suis aussi très à l’aise pour expliquer une idée de plusieurs façons différentes jusqu’à ce qu’elle devienne vraiment claire. On fera également des exercices ciblés ensemble, et je peux aussi t’aider à développer une meilleure méthode de travail si besoin.

Le but, ce n’est pas seulement de réussir les exercices, mais de vraiment comprendre ce que tu fais.
