About Chase

I grew up in St. Augustine, Florida and went on to study Accounting at Washington & Jefferson College, where I graduated with a 3.69 GPA and earned a spot on the Dean's List each semester. Alongside my academics I competed as a varsity baseball player for four years, which taught me a lot about discipline, preparation, and communication.

Professionally I work as a corporate tax accountant at PPG Industries, one of the largest industrial companies in the world, where I am also working toward earning my CPA license. During my time in college I spent two semesters as a tutor in the Accounting and Finance department, helping students work through some of the most challenging courses in the business curriculum.

I genuinely enjoy teaching. There is something satisfying about watching a concept finally click for someone who has been struggling with it, and I take that seriously whether I am working with a high school student tackling statistics for the first time or a college student grinding through Intermediate Accounting.

About the lesson

I am a CPA candidate and corporate tax accountant at PPG Industries with a 3.69 GPA in Accounting from Washington & Jefferson College, where I spent two years tutoring students in Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, and Principles of Finance. I also played college baseball, so I know firsthand what it looks like to manage a packed schedule while keeping up academically.

How I teach depends entirely on the student in front of me. Some people need to understand the concept before they can touch a problem, so we start there and build up. Others learn by doing and figure out the why along the way, so we dive in and work through it together. I pay attention early and adjust from there.

A typical session starts with figuring out exactly where things broke down, whether that is a concept that never fully clicked or a specific type of problem that keeps tripping them up. From there we work through it together until the student can handle it on their own. My goal is always that they leave the session more confident and more capable, not just having watched me solve something.

I work with high school students in Math, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, and AP Economics, and with college students in Accounting and Finance at any level. Whether you are behind, trying to stay ahead, or just preparing for a big exam, I am happy to help.
