I am a special ed teacher. I hold a B.A in humanities, a diploma inbspecial education and a diploma in foundation
Phase teaching. I teach reading online to struggling readers from South Africa. I have over 20 years if teaching experience

I use guided reading as my spring board. However, I start a lesson with a ‘Page a day text. This is done to develop background knowledge. We cover grammar and vocabulary in this part of the lesson. Next we cover phonograms and phonemic awareness. Finally we cover comprehension and fluency.
