About Sandra
I have been sewing with children for the past 5 years. The students choose fabric, learn to cut out a pattern (which is often created by them) and to sew on a machine and sew by hand when needed creating a wide variation of projects. Projects have included bandana backpacks, stuffed animals, pillows and pajama shorts just to name a few.

I am a preschool teacher and arts and crafts director at a day camp for the past 17 years. Working with my hands has always been my number one joy. I started a sewing program at camp several years ago and am always surprised at how fun and rewarding it is to see young children complete a project they have created. Learning a new skill helps to bring out creativity and build confidence in children of all ages.
