About Ezana
I am a lifelong poet and fiction writer who's been active in the Boston writing world since I was a teenager. As a student in the Creative Writing department of Swarthmore College, I learned the Iowa Workshop method and developed a keen sense for effective writing and advanced technique. I believe no one can "teach" writing, but rather I hope to give each student the tools to think through their writing and sharpen it with a critical eye.

I believe in tailoring my lesson plans to the individual student and their interests. However, my typical lesson plans will start by reading a published poem or short fiction piece inspired by the student's literary interests. We will read the piece together, and discuss what worked or didn't work for the piece and why. We'll then workshop the student's own writing, and I will leave the student with a prompt with which to write a piece for the next session. I'll also provide students with the resources they need to find the right publishers for their work and start sending out pieces.
