About Jack
I am a 1st year student at Brunel University with a passion for teaching and a history of local journalism from Kent and . Currently studying what is called a "sandwich course" of Game Designs and Creative Writing.
I have a past in teaching young children of 10-13 coding in different languages at a local library as a volunteer but now wish to extend my love of the subject to those wanting to learn.

Teaching to me is something that only applies to those wanting to learn; those who do not wish to be taught cannot be taught. As such, I go about my teaching through 3 basic principles: The Point, The Evidence and The Explanation:
Firstly, we address the point of writing. Why do writers write in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd person perspective? How do writers create imagery in a person's mind and why do they set out to create immersive environments where the reader can lose themselves?
Secondly, what do others do? We will go over different books in order to observe common patterns and certain extracts. As this is a personal experience, I also allow the student to choose their own book as they seek to find out what it is about their favourites that entice them.
Thirdly, and lastly but no means the least, we shall then seek to explain what these make readers feel. Why choose one word over the other? Why do some people write in prose and others in fragments we call short stories?
In the end; my classes are personal experiences. My job is to make you the subject rather than the books or the techniques. It's risky, perhaps, but no one has ever achieved anything by never taking a risk...
After all, I would not be here if I didn't enjoy risks.

A peer of mine. Passionate about his subject and sharing it with others, very patient, definitely recommended.
