The first lesson is free and goes for 30 minutes, then the student can make a decision as to whether or not they want to pay for more tutoring.
This is what the lessons will involve.
1. Discussion with the student on what’s their preferred style of learning, then we respond and adapt our lessons based on that self assessment (do they learn more by listening, watching, practicing or by discussing)
2. Begin each lesson with a speed writing exercise that they are not allowed to carry on past the timer (pushes them past writing blocks frequently and motivates expansion on their own stories in their own time).
3. A topic a lesson after a brief summary on each, switching between...
-Structure and Aristotle's 3 Acts, each of the acts are individually applicable as a topic (The call to action, the outer world, conclusion).
-Character. Reflect on the values and actions in popular characters of fiction.
-Plot. Observe interrelated sequences in existing literature and then discuss what is the story, where it is being told and why.
-Purpose. Discussions on historical change, how stories have inspired people and the implication of purpose in their own writings.
4. Implication of practice part A and B.
A) They must apply what they have learnt into the entirety of select sessions where feedback is available, then we mutually observe an effort to write outside of class by bringing in their downtime writings for assessment.
B) The student and I discuss what they want to do with their stories, how and why.
Online lessons.
- The lessons and assessments are the only things you're paying for, rather than being attended in person whilst you’re writing.
- Can expect lessons to be more available.
- Instead of travel costs or complications you can pay for availability instead at a way lower expense, your questions can then be answered outside of the lessons.
In person.
- Can attend multiple students at a time.
- No problem at all for consistent students who appreciate the classes.
The background you will be learning from is from higher education animation studies and a successful Fundamentals of Storytelling unit, as well as production units and a high distinction internship. Rarely invested in publishing although my one submission has been well received and is currently being developed to meet their needs.
These lessons are all inclusive catering to all ages, genders and backgrounds.
