About Josefa
I am a Cuban-trained music teacher with a master’s degree in music. My formal musical background allows me to help beginners understand not only how to play guitar, but also the rhythm, melody, and musical structure behind what they are learning.
I teach children and adults in English and Spanish. I am patient with beginners and understand that learning finger positions, chords, and rhythm can take time. I explain each skill clearly, demonstrate it carefully, and encourage students as they progress.
My goal is to make the first stages of learning guitar approachable and rewarding. I want students to feel comfortable, build reliable musical foundations, and experience the satisfaction of playing recognizable music for themselves and others.

My beginner guitar lessons provide a comfortable and practical introduction to playing music. Students learn how to hold and tune the guitar, position their hands correctly, play basic chords and melodies, develop rhythm, and understand essential musical concepts.
Each lesson is organized into simple, achievable steps. We review previous material, introduce a new skill, practice exercises, and apply what was learned to suitable songs. Lessons are adjusted to the student’s age, musical interests, and learning pace.
These lessons are ideal for children and adults who are new to guitar or who want to rebuild their basic skills with patient guidance. Instruction is available in English or Spanish, in person in Miami or online. My goal is to help students establish good habits, enjoy practicing, and become confident playing the guitar.
