About Richard
I have played chess for as long as I can remember. I am not naturally gifted and will never be a grandmaster or anything like that. However, that helps me relate better to the average player and teach them the ways of improving that worked for me and what I found to be the most important aspects of the game. I taught chess at my former school for many years and when I was able to convince them to go to events they performed very well and even came third in the state in their age group the only year I was able to convince them to go to the state tournament.

I can explain anything from the basics to more complex techniques and explain the benefits and drawback of certain strategies. I am best at explaining how to win without relying on gimmick openings and how to be comfortable playing against all sorts of openings.
