About Joe
I'm Joe, working towards my engineering science degree and hoping to guide others on a similar journey to me. I've not always found maths and physics especially easy, and I understand that people learn in vastly different ways. Once I was able to find the way that I best learn, everything became far easier and I was able to achieve strong GCSE and A level results as a result. Mathematics, physics, and especially further maths are some of the hardest subjects at both GCSE and A level and all students have weak areas within these. I want to not only help strengthen these areas for my students, but also teach them how to tackle similar weaknesses in the future. Coming from a state school, there was very little information available to me regarding Oxbridge admissions. Other than past papers, there is almost zero content available to support students looking to take on the PAT, and 'practice interview questions' are completely inaccurate online. Luckily, I was able to work with a student who had recently gone through the process and it was truly invaluable. I want to provide the same service to other aspiring students. I cannot guarantee a top PAT score or a successful interview, but I can guarantee that the student will be better equipped and ready to take on these obstacles.

Physics and especially maths are subjects that should be taught differently to everybody - there is no right way to learn. Consequently, I offer an introductory session with the student where we get to know each other, and crucially create a plan going forward, unique to that student's needs. Generally, sessions consist of unique practice exam questions and time management however this is completely flexible. I'm a first year Engineering Science undergraduate at the University of Oxford. I achieved ten 9s and three A*s at GCSE and A Level respectively; these are the level at which I generally tutor. I also specialise in Oxbridge admissions, specifically the PAT and engineering interviews. There's very little helpful content relating to these available and so students generally find this tutoring incredibly valuable - speaking from experience.
