About Abel
I am a high-achieving and approachable tutor, scoring 95/100 in Mathematics Advanced and 92/100 in Mathematics Extension 1. I also demonstrated exceptional academic improvement, increasing my Mathematics Advanced rank from 45/76 to 3/76 across semesters and achieving 94% in the Normanhurst Boys High School Trial Exams.
I am passionate about teaching because I have seen firsthand how the right guidance can make a significant difference. I specialize in helping students turn confusion into clarity and consistently improve their results. My goal is to build both confidence and understanding, creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and pushing themselves to achieve better outcomes.

I employ an interactive, student-based learning strategy, where rather than simply presenting solutions, I engage students in critical thinking by asking students questions after analyzing their thinking process, developing a strong foundation of knowledge, confidence, and autonomy.
Additionally, my teaching is tailored to the needs of each individual student, where I simplify difficult topics using a step-by-step approach, ensuring students remain actively involved through discussion, problem solving, and feedback.
Lessons can be organized as either 2-3 1-hour sessions or one 2-hour session per week depending on preference, with each session typically involves revision, interactive teaching of new material, and exercises with guidance.
With a strong academic background in mathematics, I am familiar with exam marking criteria and expectations. Additionally, with my prior experience tutoring at Pre-Uni New College, I place emphasis on clear working, structured answers, and maximizing marks.
These lessons are suitable for high school students at various levels of proficiency, whether it be Y7-10 or Y11-12.
