About Ria
In my GCSEs I achieved 9s in both maths and biology and an 8 in chemistry and in my A-levels, I achieved an A* in chemistry and an A in biology. I'm really passionate about my subjects and have a solid understanding of them and understand the exam technique very well. Whether it's breaking down complex concepts or providing practical examples, I can adapt my teaching style to suit different learning needs. I'm also patient and a good communicator, knowing that learning can sometimes be challenging. Plus, being a student myself, I feel like I am quite approachable and easy to connect with. Overall, I'm confident in my ability to support and guide others on their academic journey. As a tutor, my aim is to make my students much more confident in their studies and their abilities. I found that when I was at school, I performed best when my teachers really believed in me and I have found the same results in my experience with my students.

My previous tutoring experience has been in my local area, teaching maths and science of all levels up until GCSE with typical lessons usually around an hour. In previous lessons with students who are preparing for exams, usually I focus on going through the content and ensuring they understand the concepts. Then afterwards going through exam techniques and how to answer specific questions that usually come up on each topic. In my lessons, I will regularly try to quiz my students on topics we have previously studied to consolidate what they have learnt before. Also focusing on set previous exam questions to get them familiar with exam-style questions and teaching them the exam technique for different topics and types of questions.
