About Maury
As a current high school student, I am able to connect with kids easily and understand their needs and struggles around math. I grew up having a difficult time with math and it often upset me and I would give up on it easily, until I got a tutor who helped me switch my mindset and made me love math. I want to be able to do that for other kids and help them not necessarily love math but be confident enough in their own skills and themselves in math.

My approach as a tutor is to make math clear and not scary for students through breaking concepts into smaller steps and creating lesson plans to fit what each student needs. A typical lesson plan would include reviewing relevant and past material, learning a new concept, then practicing problems until the student feels confident enough to continue on their own. My lessons are designed for middle and high school students who want to strengthen their understanding, improve grades, and build confidence in this difficult subject.
