About Skylar
I'm a High School Junior from Cape Coral, Florida who attends a local state college. I am currently the valedictorian of my class (2024). Now while this all sounds extremely nerdy and robotic, I'm still a teenager at heart. I swam for 12 years of my life competing a state-level and believe it or not, I don't enjoy studying. Now I understand that may not be what you want to hear coming from a tutor, however in order to form a connection with a student, I believe it is better to be able to relate. Simply because I excel in academics does not mean I enjoy it. I do what I do because I am driven and I know what is best. This is something I want to share with my students. I would love to be able to teach a student how to balance school with a social life, while also teaching them the material they have had trouble with. Students will be more proned and optimistic when coming to sessions if they enjoy talking with me and trust me! Therefore, if you are a student reading this right now, I myself am just like you. The only difference is I've learned how to be driven and how to learn quickly, something I'd love to teach you as well.

I prefer to use step-by-step, visual and audial techniques to insure the student understands the content thoroughly. As a current High School Junior attending Freshman and Sophomore College level classes, I want to spread my tricks of fast learning and mental cues so not only do my students learn the content that they have been having trouble with, but they will also learn how to become better at acquiring knowledge quickly. I am more aimed at elementary to high school levels; specifically math such as geometry or algebra.
I see my job as not to only teach a student the subject, but to teach them how to learn as well.
