About Max

Hi, I'm Max, a current A-Level student studying Computer Science, Maths, and Physics. Alongside my studies, I've built a genuine interest in coding, which has given me a solid, practical understanding of the subject that goes beyond just what's needed for exams.

Having sat GCSE Computer Science myself relatively recently, I know first-hand how tricky some of the concepts can be to wrap your head around — and I remember what actually helped it click. I'm patient, approachable, and genuinely enjoy helping people get to that "oh, I get it now" moment, rather than just handing over answers.

Alongside my studies, I've completed one-week industry placements at Opencast, Accenture, and Oliver Wyman, giving me real exposure to how technology and problem-solving are applied in professional settings. This experience has strengthened my practical understanding of computer science beyond the classroom and given me a clearer sense of how the concepts you'll learn at GCSE connect to real-world careers.

I take tutoring seriously: lessons are well-prepared, focused on your specific needs, and structured around building real confidence — not just short-term cramming before an exam. About the lesson

I focus on building genuine understanding rather than rote memorisation — especially important for Computer Science, where exam boards test problem-solving as much as recall. I break topics down using real code examples and simple, relatable analogies, then work through practice questions together so you can see exactly how marks are awarded and where students typically lose them.

Each lesson is tailored to what you're struggling with — whether that's a specific topic (like algorithms, networks, or programming logic) or general exam technique. I like to start with a quick check of where you're at, then adjust the pace so we're not rushing through things you already know or lingering too long on things you've got.

Lesson Length

Lessons typically run 1 hour, which gives enough time to properly work through a topic and practice questions without losing focus. Shorter top-up sessions can also be arranged for quick homework help or last-minute exam prep.

My Experience

I'm a current A-Level student studying Computer Science, Maths, and Physics, with a genuine coding background outside of the classroom. Having sat GCSE Computer Science myself relatively recently, I know the specification well and understand exactly what examiners are looking for — and where students commonly go wrong.
