About Yasmin
Hello! I'm Yasmin, a second-year Pharmacy student at King's College London. I would like to offer you my support with GCSE and A-Level Biology and Psychology. I have two years' experience tutoring friends and fellow students in these subjects, and at university I manage a co-quiz system where my fellow classmates create exam-style questions on which to test their knowledge. My goal is to increase your confidence in writing, thinking, and discussing scientifically by implementing research papers and subject dogmas in my teaching. Of course, this cannot happen without taking time to evaluate your academic targets. For this reason, I only take on a maximum of 3 students at a time, so that each receives highly personalised teaching. Consistent communication is crucial to a good tutor-student partnership- I will regularly update my availability, and likewise you can inform me of your desired dates to meet. I look forward to working with you!

My teaching style is adaptive to each student's needs. If understanding content is their goal, I follow a teach-back method where I first illustrate the content with immersive examples, and encourage the student to teach it back to me. This allows the information to become second nature to them, which creates a strong foundation upon which to improve exam technique. My particular strengths are in improving essay eloquence and concision- which is crucial for Psychology. My Biology teaching is more content heavy, so I focus on quick active recall sessions and integrating this knowledge into exam questions. In both subjects, I also include research papers in my lessons to broaden the student's awareness of the scientific writing style, preparing them with those essential analytical skills to succeed in science. Lessons can be as short as an hour, but can extend to two hours upon the student and parents' discretion. Lessons can be online, but if you live in the Kensington/Chelsea/Victoria area, where I am based, I can also travel to you.
