About Katie
I am currently a third-year medical student and completed my undergraduate degree in Anatomy and Human Biology. After my undergraduate degree, I was an Anatomy Demonstrator for a year. During this time, I developed a passion for delivering high-level educational instruction and ensuring that all students understood the content to the best of their ability. I know that from being a student, having someone explain the content to you on a one-to-one level and in a way that you understand can make the biggest difference. As a tutor, I hope to be able to help you in this same way. Through taking a PGCert in Clinical Anatomy with Education, I have learnt many different teaching techniques which can be personalised to each student's way of learning. I hope that understanding what the student needs and providing good explanations will allow my student to feel confident and enthusiastic about what they are learning.

I aim to understand what the student is struggling with before or at the beginning of the session and then use a multi-modal teaching approach to aid the student in their understanding. I enjoy teaching through diagrams and putting the content into real-life context or analogies so that the students have fun ways of remembering it. Where necessary, I will end with questions to see how the students' understanding has developed. I hope that through listening to the student and what they want to achieve in the sessions, together we can progress their knowledge and understanding.
