About Alina
I am a dedicated Ukrainian language tutor with extensive academic training and practical teaching experience. I completed my second language acquisition training during my master's studies at the University of Toronto and Columbia University. I have taught Ukrainian in academic settings and continue to do so as a PhD student at the University of Chicago. Additionally, I am a researcher specializing in Ukrainian language, culture, and literature, which allows me to offer students a rich, immersive learning experience that goes beyond language to include cultural context and regional insights.

My teaching is grounded in my training in second language acquisition, emphasizing a communicative approach, active engagement, and the use of authentic materials. I work with all levels, from beginners to heritage speakers, customizing topics to ensure relevance and to create meaningful, context-driven learning experiences.
