About Akhil

I am adamant on getting into medical school. So far, I have medical clinical experience, as well as experience tutoring high school students. During my undergraduate admissions process, I was accepted into every school (and program) I applied to, and also earned a near-perfect composite score on the ACT. I use the skills I learned during this process throughout my college academic life, and I truly believe that I can help students by showing them tips and tricks that are guaranteed to help them not only with standardized tests, but all the tests they will need to take. I also believe that when I tutor students in a certain subject area, they will be able to use the skills they have learned and apply them anywhere that they need to study.

About the lesson

I plan to teach in a casual, informal manner, in a way that will help you make connections from the material to the real world. I have found in my past experience that students learn the best when they are given practical application, as no one wants to learn so called "useless information!"
My lesson plan would involve an overview of the material we wish to cover, an explanation of the concepts the material is covering, and then interactive practice problems as well as activities to engage the student, and not bore them to death.
For test prep/college admissions, the greatest strength I believe that I possess is that I completed those same tasks not too long ago. Because I am closer to a high school senior's age than their counselor, I believe I can understand their position at a much greater depth and give advice according to their particular traits, not just their academic record.

My skills in mathematics are best geared towards teaching students in the grades 7th-10th, whereas college advice and test prep is the best in grades 11th-12th.
