About Ruby
Being a neurodivergent student has been tricky at times, especially when the education system is not built to support neurodivergent brains. Having experienced this, I want to support psychology students and tailor teaching methods to the individual rather than treating every student like a number! I am incredibly passionate about my subject, with specific areas of interest being clinical psychology, criminal psychology, and social psychology. I also have experience in other areas, including research methods, cognitive psychology, neuroscience/biological psychology, and developmental psychology. I have also touched on areas within sociology, education, health, and cyberpsychology. I hope to share my passion with students and inspire enthusiasm for psychology. Furthermore, I hope to help students find confidence in their abilities and aid them in discovering new ways of learning that the education system may not have shown them before.

I am mid-way through my second year of Psychology BSc and I have previously studied A Level Psychology and Access to HE Psychology pathway. I have experience in tutoring and providing pastoral support for younger students with a range of learning disabilities. I myself am neurodivergent so I understand how difficult the education system can be when it is not tailored to suit neurodivergent brains! I would like to tutor GCSE, A Level and Access to HE students studying Psychology. I offer a free lesson to get to know students' needs and ability. This will enable us to set expectations and goals and to have discussions about what you are hoping to learn. Typical length of lesson to be around 1 hour to 1hr30mins depending on content and how many breaks a student may need. I aim for students to have a 5 minute break every 20 to 30 minutes to ensure that concentration is maintained. The first half of the lesson would focus on content and the second half of the lesson would focus on applications e.g. real life application/meaning, exam questions, essay skills etc.
