About Nancy
Hi! I am Nancy, I go by she/her pronouns. I am currently studying Cognitive Science with a Specialization in Design and Interaction at UCSD!
I have 4+ years of experience in using Illustrator and InDesign! A lot of what I know started as self-learning, then I took several classes in design, graphic design, and typography to hone my skills.
I am very passionate about art and have been doing digital art for 7 years and fine arts for 10 years! I also dabble in branding and marketing for social media.
Some of my experiences:
I was the Business Lead on my robotics team for two years where I taught many workshops in Illustrator and graphic design. I also directed many of our graphics for shirts, infographics, merch, etc.
I was also the Director of Imagery for a nonprofit called Engineering 4 All. I was in charge of creating website pages (wireframes to completion) and new graphics!

The best way to learn design is through practice and projects! We can set up a lesson plan based on what skills you are wanting to achieve and adjust projects based on what you are interested in learning about! I have experience with fine arts, graphic design, illustration, typography, branding, and digital art! I also have experience with branding and marketing specifically with clubs and organizations (robotics, nonprofits, etc.)
I have a background in teaching illustrator and graphic design workshops for high schoolers and a typical workshop would include an introduction of tools, then an introduction of a project. Once projects are started, we will do reviews together and critique sessions (giving suggestions/feedback), as well as continue building skills! I put a lot of emphasis on projects, portfolio building skills, and learning foundational skills. These lessons are for somebody looking to get started creating projects or for somebody looking to learn some new skills.
