About Grant
As a former student-athlete who was well engaged within my community, I understand the difficulties that come with managing one's time and energy in a manner that is both conducive to academic success as well as a healthy mind and body. I am currently a student and thus understand the contemporary education systems that today's students are exposed to. In terms of my personal success as a student, I received AP credit for statistics and environmental science in high school and was the only freshman in my class recommended and accepted to the economics majors committee at Dickinson College, in which I was responsible for acting as a voice for my peers and conducting interviews for open faculty positions. I was also recommended for and attended a four day leadership seminar last January separately by both a professor and a coach, and earned membership to the Alpha Lambda Delta honors society for my GPA.

My approach would include the appropriate instruction for problem solving followed encouraging the student to reach answers on their through the application of their current and gained knowledge; drilled through several examples. Preferably, students would provide me with examples of problems or work that is assigned to them in their classes so that I can more directly teach them the required strategies and content to succeed in the classroom. As a former student athlete in all levels of education in which I have engaged in, I am also more than capable of giving advice and strategies for managing time and study skills that will allow the student to succeed in both important facets of their life. Additionally, I believe it is important to acknowledge one's skill and weaknesses in order to succeed so I would encourage the student to be open with me regarding how they think, such as a being critical thinker, creative thinker, logic-based thinker, etc.
